Delivering a powerful high
Since HHC-P arrived on the cannabinoid scene earlier this year, it’s quickly become a favorite among hemp lovers who crave a powerful high.
Better known as HHC-P, it was deliberately developed to provide something similar to THC-P (tetrahydrocannabiphorol), which is regarded as the most potent cannabinoid on the market. With HHC-P making its way into all kinds of formulas, let’s offer a crash course on the cannabinoid, in terms of what it can offer by way of effects, whether or not it’s legal where you live, and everything else that you need to know about it.
What is HHC-P?
HHC-P, also known as hexahydrocannabiphorol, is part of a group of hydrogenated cannabinoids along with HHC and HHC-O. It is a synthetic cannabinoid that is chemically modified in a lab from HHC and was deliberately created to be similar to THC-P, enhancing the potency of HHC by around 10 times.
HHC-P is stronger than HHC due to the addition of carbon atoms on its molecular side chain, allowing the cannabinoid to bind more efficiently to type 1 cannabinoid receptors (aka CB1 receptors) in the brain that are responsible for making the user feel high.
As a hydrogenated form of THC, HHC is more chemically stable than THC-based cannabinoids, which is why HHC-P was created in the first place. HHC-P mimics the potency of THC-P, while also having the advantage of being more chemically stable. Many people believe that this chemical stability enhances the compound’s bioavailability, which may be another reason it feels more potent.
HHC-P: Psychoactive effects
While other cannabinoids (even the psychoactive ones) appeal to both recreational and medicinal users, the main appeal of HHC-P is to recreational users for its incredibly high potency. After all, the reason why the cannabinoid exists is purely because of the demand for a more intoxicating cannabinoid that’s more stable than THC.
HHC-P’s high is, like we said, far more potent than Delta 9 THC, and likely up to 10 times as potent, give or take, based on the comparison we can make to THC-P, the cannabinoid HHC-P was more or less “modeled after.” Given HHC-P’s high potency, it’s safe to assume that all of use should go easy with it!
As for what the high is like, people compare it very much to that of THC-P. In other words, you can expect powerful waves of soothing euphoria, a feeling of absolute ease and a body high that can be quite potent, to the point of causing couchlock.
HHC-P: Potential benefits
Hexahydrocannabiphorol is so new that we don’t have any references when it comes to its potential benefits, as we do with other cannabinoids that have been around for longer. It takes a lot of time to study a cannabinoid’s effects in a clinical setting and get the results published, so we may have to wait a few years before we can learn more through available research.
In the meantime, you could postulate that HHC-P is similar to THC-P in terms of potential benefits. This is because HHC is just a hydrogenated analog of Delta 9 THC, and HHC-P been modified to almost perfectly mimic THC-P’s chemical structure.
Basically, this means that HHC-P may one day prove to have positive effects on appetite, nausea, physical discomfort, and mood, in a very powerful way.
Is HHC-P legal?
HHC-P is legal due to the fact that it complies with the Federal 2018 Farm Bill which declared that all hemp derivatives can be sold legally if they contain no more than 0.3% Delta 9 THC (by dry weight). So, under federal law, HHC-P is a fully protected hemp derivative. However, you should check if HHC-P is legal in your area at state level.
When we get to state laws, things get a bit trickier. No state has outright banned HHC-P, but HHC-P falls under a blanket ban enacted by several states that are against psychoactive cannabinoids, whether they come from the hemp plant or not.
These states include:
- Hawaii (oral and inhalable products)
- New York
- North Dakota
- Rhode Island
What to know about taking HHC-P for the first time
Basically, because HHC-P is so intoxicating, the key to taking it is being very careful with how exactly much you take as a beginner. In this case, it’s helpful to read the directions on the label, which recommend dosage amounts that are compatible with those who have a low tolerance.
Because HHC-P is so strong, HHC-P vape cartridges will more than likely contain a mixture of HHC-P and Delta 8 THC for your safety.
The other thing is to make sure you’re careful with is who you’re buying this compound from. Always look for a company with a strong reputation that engages in third-party lab-testing, to know you’re getting a product that’s safe, authentic, and generally high in quality.
HHC-P: The products
One of the very first companies to launch HHC-P products was Binoid, and their HHC-P formulas are some of the most sought-after on the market. Why? Because Binoid is an already-established and trusted brand in the alternative and minor cannabinoid market.
Binoid offers thorough lab-testing, consistent quality standards and clean formulas that are free of harmful or unnecessary additives. The company has an awesome collection of top-shelf HHC-P products with a decent selection of product types and flavors.
Binoid’s HHC-P menu includes;
- HHC-P tinctures
- HHC-P disposable vapes
- HHC-P vape carts
My favorite HHC-P product so far is Binoid’s HHC-P Knockout Blend disposable vape pen, which I’ll be reviewing in full soon in my full Binoid review here. Use our discount code CBDINCUBATOR25 to receive a further 25% off their (already) heavily discounted HHC-P bundles.
